Hello Parents,

This past week, we spoke about how we keep our bodies warm in the cold weather.  We discussed how important it is to wear jackets, hats, gloves and scarves in winter weather.  We also began discussing how Polar Bears keep warm in the cold weather.  The students did a fun science experiment on how a polar bear’s blubber keeps them warm in the cold temperatures.  We also learned about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and why he is such an important man in history.

This upcoming week we will learn all about polar bears and their environment.  We will talk about what polar bears eat and what they need to survive in the cold weather.  The students will make a puffy paint polar bear to begin decorating our classroom with arctic animals.

For religious instruction we will talk about how God loves all people.  We will continue talking about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the impact he has made on society.
