Happy Monday! I hope everyone is enjoying the day off and the beautiful crisp fall weather outside. As we strive to keep everyone safe, please remember to complete the daily attestations each morning prior to coming to school.
This is a short week for us and we will be starting a new theme for the month of October – Orchard Harvest. This month’s theme is all about the trees, fruits and animals in the orchard. Our first topic will be the life cycle of trees. The kids will learn about seeds, roots, trunks, branches and leaves. We will work on the letter Ee and the number 3. Our shape for the week is square and our color is red. We will read Bear Waits, Curious George Plants a Tree, and We’re Going on a Leaf Hunt (and we will be going on a leaf hunt on Friday!). For our craft, we will make a tree shaker.
For Jesus time, we will start talking about creation and how God created the trees and the seeds. We will continue practicing “Jesus Loves Me” and “Jesus Loves the Little Children of the World” and I will introduce “My God is so Big”. We will continue talking about fire prevention and fire safety as we reread Pete the Cat: Firefighter and Clifford the Firehouse Dog.
