I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving and a lovely long weekend. The countdown to Christmas has officially begun! With only three weeks before winter break, we have a lot of fun things to do. I love the holiday season and I can’t wait to spend it with the children.
As we strive to keep everyone safe, please remember to complete the daily attestations each morning prior to coming to school.
This Sunday is the first Sunday in Advent. This week we will make an Advent wreath and talk about the birth of Jesus our Savior and the meanings of each candle. The children will light the first candle of the wreath and we will send it home for you to light the remaining candles together on each Sunday in Advent. We will also continue practicing for our Christmas Program, which is on December 10th at 11am.
Our prayer for the first Week One of Advent will be:
Dear God, help us be kind and loving
as we prepare to welcome Jesus into our hearts.
Amen.
We will get a visit from a special friend this week who will stay with us throughout the holiday season. Our Elf comes all the way from the North Pole to remind us to be kind and good to each other. We will read Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, and Snow Globe Wishes. The children will be very busy making special holiday crafts; especially some amazing surprises for mom and dad. Our Scholastic Reader this week will be about Winter Animals, as we start to talk about the colder weather and winter.
