The children loved learning about the different types of transportation and all the fun projects we made this past week.  We learned about the letter “C” for car.  We sounded out the letter C and thought of different words that started with that letter.  We had a lot of fun making a “Rainbow Painting” with cars.  It was interesting to see the different types of transportation that our friends used to get to school.  We loved hearing the Singing School Bus Driver sing “Buckle Up” and talk about bus safety.  What a great week!

This week we will begin our science unit on farm animals.  We will learn about the different types of farm animals and the sounds they make.  We will read the books, “On The Farm” by David Elliot, “Counting Animals on The Farm” by Goodzilla Books, and “Touch and Feel Farm Animals” by Little Hippo Books.  This will encourage interaction through the touch and feel panels and can help develop curiosity in children at a time when they can’t read.  These books will also help our students learn about life on the farm.  We will sing “Old MacDonald Had a Farm” and other songs and rhymes about farm animals.

For our math lesson this week, We will count and graph our favorite farm animals.  We will also make crafts of different farm animals each day and learn about them and the sounds they make.
