Last week we discovered the season of winter and it’s changes. This week we will explore winter clothes. We will study how clothing can keep us warm when the weather is cold. We will enjoy many stories including, The Mitten by Alvin Tresselt, The Hat by Jan Brett, One Mitten by Kristine George and The Jacket I Wear In The Snow by Shirley Neitzel.
At Jesus Time this week, we will discuss the importance of kindness and compassion. As we learn a little about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, we will discuss how Jesus loves everybody the same no matter what they look like. We will discuss the concept of equality.
J is for jacket! This week we will explore letter Jj and play a “matching jackets” math game. Our science project this week will be to create a borax crystal snowflake. We will dissolve borax into a jar of hot water and observe as crystals form on a pipe cleaner snowflake left in the jar. It should be very cool!
Just a reminder that there is no school on Monday, January 16th in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
