We had a great first 3 days of nursery school last week and I am looking forward to many more awesome days ahead.
Our theme for this week will be apples. We will talk about the different colors of apples, we will taste the different types of apples, and we will make an apple pie. We will read 10 Apples up on Top, Apple Countdown, Apples for Everyone, and Picking Apples. We will also have an Apple Weekly Reader this week.
For math we will learn red, and circle. We will play “I spy red” in the classroom. We will also graph who likes which type of apple the best.
For Jesus time we will learn about Johnny Appleseed and we will learn the Johnny Appleseed prayer. We will also watch a video about Johnny Appleseed.
For science/STEM this week we will be trying to balance apples. We will also learn if apples sink or float, and we will talk about the parts of an apple. We will also make apple seeds dance, and plant some apple seeds to grow our own apple tree.
In our sensory table this week we will have apple pie cloud dough, and we will also have red, cinnamon playdough to play with at the table.
On Monday this week will be our first trip to the library.
