This week we start a new literacy theme “My Family”. The topic this week will be “Who’s in my Family?”. We will read Bear’s Busy Family, Herman the Helper, and Daddy Calls Me Man. Our vocabulary will be brother, father, grandfather, grandmother, mother, and sister.
For math we will review #5, oval, and orange. In conjunction with reviewing the color orange, we will mix red and yellow play dough to make orange, and we will make puffy paint orange pumpkins. We will also take a look at attribute blocks and make pictures with the shapes.
In science we will take look at the poster “Look at me Grow”, and then we will compare our heights.
We will continue our seasonal unit about the farm that we began last week. We will make a muddy pig project, learn a 3 Little Pigs song, and play with muddy ooblek pigs in the sensory table. We will also make a C Cow project, as we will be focusing on the letter Cc this week. We will also hear the story of “Curly Caterpillar”, and learn a silly Cc song.
For Jesus time this week, we will read the story P is for Pumpkin: God’s Harvest Alphabet, we will visit chapel on Wednesday and learn about the comfort dog ministry, and we will introduce Abraham.
