I hope everyone was able to enjoy the beautiful weekend! We have another 4 day week ahead, with school being closed on Friday for professional development for the teachers and staff.
This week is week 2 for our Big Day unit “My Family” with the topic “We take care of each other”. We will read Mama Zooms, Too Many Tamales, and My Day from A to Z. Our vocabulary words will be: caring, cousins, feelings, and love.
For Jesus time this week we will learn about Jacob and Rachel having a baby. We will also go to chapel on Wednesday.
Math this week will be #6, black, and hexagon. We will also compare using the words: longer, shorter, longest, and shortest.
For science we will learn about spiders and skeletons. We will learn that spiders have 8 legs, 8 eyes, and 2 body parts. Spiders are not insects; insects have 6 legs and 3 body parts. We will make a watercolor spiderweb craft. We will also learn about skeletons and look at x-rays on the light table. We will learn that the Femur (thigh bone) is the largest bone in your body, and make a fun skeleton craft.
Our letter this week is Dd. We will learn a Dd song and read “Ditto Dog”. We will also make a letter Dd craft.
In art on Tuesday we will start our Monet Waterlilies project with Mrs. Kerwin.
I can’t wait to see what Mr. Mallon has planned for this week in gym class on Wednesday. The obstacle course last week was so much fun!
