This week we continue our Community unit with the topic “The People We Meet”. We will read Jobs, Dot the Fire Dog, and ABC Drive. Our vocabulary will be doctor, firefighter, mail carrier, police officer, and work.
Our seasonal activities this week will include learning about squirrels and scarecrows. We will paint squirrels with bushy tails, and make a torn paper scarecrow. Some books we will read include: Squirrels All Year Long, The Nutty Nut Chase, The Scarecrow’s Hat, and the Lonely Scarecrow. The sensory table will have a fun fall surprise with squirrels, pine cones, acorns, and wooden platforms, connecting the outside to the inside.
We will learn letter Hh this week and learn an H song, and read the story “Happy Hippo”.
During Jesus time we will continue to be thankful this month with the story about Samuel and being thankful for school, and David and Jonathan being thankful for friends.
