Happy second week of May! I hope everyone was able to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend!
This week is our last topic for unit 7 in our Big Day curriculum. The topic is “Seasons” and our vocabulary words are: winter, spring, summer, fall, and season. We will read What Makes the Seasons, and Look, Listen and Learn.
In math we will review counting by 10 and continue to practice adding.
For Jesus time this week we will hear the story “Jesus knows my name”, and we will visit chapel on Wednesday. You have probable heard your children singing one of our closing program songs. They love it and are doing a great job learning all of the words.
This week we will also begin learning about caterpillars and butterflies. We should hopefully have some caterpillars in our class this week that we will get to watch change into butterflies. We will learn the words: metamorphosis, chrysalis, and symmetry. We will learn all about the butterfly’s life cycle.
Reminder that this Friday is Special Person’s Day. We are looking forward to a lovely morning with your child’s special person.
Upcoming dates:
School is closed from Thursday May 25 to Monday May 29 for Professional Development and Memorial Day Weekend.
Our class picnic is Friday June 2.
Our last day of class and closing program is Tuesday June 13.
