I cannot believe that this is the last week in April and May is just around the corner! Spring is definitely in the air and God’s beauty is all around us. We have been enjoying looking at the beautiful daffodils, tulips, and hyacinths planted outside our church when we go outside.

This week is topic 3 in our Nature All Around Us unit, “Our Weather”. Our new vocabulary words will be: weather, rainy, sunny, windy, thunderstorm, lightening, and cloudy. We will read What Will the Weather be Like Today, and Weather. We will do some weather graphing and sorting worksheets as well.

This week we will be finishing up the alphabet with the letter Zz. We will read “Zippy Zebra” and learn a Zz song. We will make a Zz is for Zebra project to complete our alphabet project binder. Next week we will begin reviewing the whole alphabet, both letter sound and recognition, and then I will start introducing sight words. The children have shown great interest in learning how to read so I am excited to see how well they do with the sight words.

This week we will review #8, and counting to 20.

For Jesus time we will continue working on the Lord’s Prayer and we will read the story of Timothy. We are also learning some fun new spring songs like “All God’s Critters”, and “If I were a Butterfly”.

This Friday I Arbor Day so I am planning to plant some lemon seeds with the kids so they can grow into their own lemon trees. The trees will grow lemons eventually if kept in a very sunny spot and the tree blossoms smell heavenly!

I also found a really cool bird’s nest STEAM project that I plant to do so we can put nests in the tree in our classroom.

We definitely have a fun week ahead! Have a blessed week everyone!
