Hello everyone! The 2013-2014 school is flying by, and we are already coming to the close of the first quarter. Parent/Teacher conferences will take place on November 21st, and you may sign up for a time slot here. I look forward to meeting with all of you!

8th Social Studies

This week the 8th grade is continuing to study the changes that took place in the West in the years following the Civil War. We have been exploring how mining and railroads impacted life in the United States, and we will then explore how the Native Americans were affected by the westward migration and industrialization.

7th Social Studies

This week the 7th grade is finishing up studying what REALLY happened in Salem, Massachusetts, during the so-called Salem “witch” trials of 1692. They have been reading about the fact that there was no actual witch craft being practiced and that 24 people were tragically killed due to what boils down to mass hysteria and bullying.

8AA Religion

8AA will be finishing up Unit 1. The students will have a quiz on Tuesday, November 12th. They will receive a study guide, which you may access here. Also, the memory verse for this week in 1 John 1:8-9, which can be found on p. 29 in the student workbook.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
