8th Social Studies

This week eighth grade is wrapping their study of the 1920s. We will focus on the economic downturn that led to the Great Depression. At the end of last week we talked about how items are purchased using credit, and today we will be looking at how the stock market works. These two items were the biggest contributors to the Great Depression, and they will also provide some good life lessons on financial responsibility. Eighth Grade will have their test on Chapter 22 next Wednesday, April 9th. The study guide may be found here.

7th Social Studies

This week in social studies, seventh grade will be finishing up learning about President Washington’s administration as well as learning about the presidency of John Adams. We will be learning about how the United States reacted to threats both at home and abroad, and how those early policies have shaped our country’s current policies. Seventh grade will also have their chapter 8 test next Wednesday, April 9th. The Study guide may be found here.

8AA Religion

This week we will be studying the actions of King David, both good and bad. We will also look at his son, King Solomon. The ideas to remember with these two men, is to use the gifts that God has given us in a manner that is pleasing to our Father in Heaven, and that God indeed offers forgiveness when we do not. The memory verse this week is Psalm 51:10-12, which was written by David a a means of asking for God’s forgiveness.
