Hello everyone! Can you feel the excitement in the air? T-9 days until we celebrate the birth of our dear Savior! Until then, we have a full week of school to keep our focus. On Wednesday during 8th period, 8AA will have a small Christmas party that our wonderful class parents have put together. Thursday, the Middle School will be going to see A Christmas Story at the Theater at Madison Square Garden.

8th Social Studies

This week the 8th grade will wrap their study of urbanization and immigration of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In place of a traditional chapter test, the students will be working on a document based question in class on Wednesday. The students have already completed the document work, so they will simply write the essay based on the documents and notes they have taken.

7th Social Studies

The 7th grade will conclude their study of colonial life this week. We will finish looking at he African slave trade and will study some of the philosophical ideas that emerged during the Enlightenment. The 7th grade will also have an assignment in class on Wednesday that will take the place of a traditional chapter test.

8AA Religion

This week in Religion class, we are going to take a light break from the Old Testament history to study the prophecies that foretold the birth of Christ. We will also take a look at some of the common symbols of Christmas, and Christianity in general. Due to our field trip on Thursday, there will not be a memory quiz this week.
