It’s September and Back to School!   This means new teachers, new classrooms and HOMEWORK.

Some parents are very lucky.  Their child comes home and settles down to complete the homework assignments.  They have everything they need, and do not ask for help.

Chances are, your child does not fit into this pattern all the time.  There are some things you can do to help.

1.  Have a quiet place for them to work, with no distractions.

2.  Provide them with the materials they need-pens, pencils, paper, etc.

3.  Keep all review materials readily accessible.  Color coding helps the student be organized.

4.  Be familiar with the help the teacher provides online.

5.  Keep the lines of communication open with your child’s teacher.

If homework seems to be a constant battle, or if you feel that your child is spending too long completing nightly assignments, talk to your child’s teacher.

Feel free to contact me in the Learning Center if I can be of any help.

Blessings,
