This Week in Art:
Happy Fall!
Preschool Classes will be working on their Monet Lily Ponds. The Kindergarten class has been learning about different lines and how to use lines and shapes to draw objects and people. They are looking forward to coloring their beautiful Autumn pictures. Our First Graders will use watercolor to paint their Rainbow Fish pictures. Second Grade will finish coloring their Autumn Activity drawings and sponge paint the leaves on their trees.
Third Grade will learn about the Impressionistic style of French painter P. Renoir. They will analyze and apply the style to their oil pastel drawings of a vase of mums. The Fourth Grade class will enjoy a slide presentation of how artists depict sunsets in their pieces. Then they will watch a video presentation of 365 days of sunsets. Finally, the class will use chalk pastels to create an original drawing of a sunset. This will be the last day for the Fifth Grade to complete their Candy Corn Character Collages.
Sixth Graders are using their traced shoe drawings to create an original tempera and watercolor painting depicting the art principle of movement. The Seventh Grade Class will be leaning how to use construction paper collage as a means to express a word picture. Eighth Grade students will finish up their phobia drawings this week. Finally, the Art Elective class started painting their abstract drawings last week and will continue for the next two classes.
REMINDER: All Middle School Students should be checking their Art Google Classroom at least 1x weekly for announcements/reminders etc..
