This Week in Art
This week back from our Easter break many classes will touch on the season of Spring with lessons based on nature, color theory, insects, new life and the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our ECC classes will be coloring and pasting Cherry Blossom Trees. Kindergarten will finish up their watercolor crosses. The First Grade class will be experimenting with primary and secondary paint colors and color mixing. They will be painting Turtle Color Wheels. Second Grade will be reinforcing their knowledge of primary and secondary colors by painting coloring changing chameleons and turning them into a collage.
Third Graders will be designing their Stained Glass windows using at least two Christian symbols. The class enjoyed a tour of Trinity’s stained glass windows before the school break. Fourth Grade will complete their drawings of The Crucifixion inspired by the work of Peter P. Rubens. The Fifth Grade class will finish up their Romero Britto drawings this week as well.
The Sixth Grade will continue their unit on portraiture by sketching a portrait of a classmate they have partnered with. Seventh Graders will begin a lesson on One Point Perspective by drawing a Circular City. The students usually love to draw favorite NYC-inspired skyscrapers such as The Freedom Tower and Empire State Buildings. Our Eighth Graders will continue with their chalk pastel large flower drawings. The 3rd Trimester Art Elective class will work on their Doodle Desert drawings adding lots of texture with patterns.
Keep Creating!
