This Week in Art

This week our ECC classes will start making their Cherry Blossom Trees using crumbled tissue paper squares. Our Kindergarten students will start to watercolor the beautiful tulips they drew on paper.  First Grade will build a sculpture fashioned after the mobiles and stabiles of artist A. Calder.  Second Grade will view the beautiful irises that lined the pathway to Monet’s house and garden.  Using tempera paint the class will create their own version of an “impressionist” style iris flower.

Third grade will also view the beautiful flower garden paintings of artist Claude Monet but will instead be painting their version of a bouquet of their favorite flowers. The Fourth Grade class will be learning about SCALE in composition drawing.  They will be drawing a picture that demonstrates this concept. Fifth Grade will finish off their unit on color by drawing or painting a picture that only uses a set of four analogous colors.     They will have a choice of choosing which medium they would like to use for this assignment.  The Sixth Grade class is still working hard on their Abstract Shoe Value Drawings.  Seventh Grade is busy creating their Word Art construction paper collages and Eighth Grade is halfway done using chalk pastels to color in their large flowers.

The Art Elective class continues to work at designing the letters that will build their Name Sculpture.

Keep Creating!
