This Week in Art
PreK will use watercolors to start painting their Easter Bunnies. Kindergarten will use clay to learn how to make “pinch pots.” First Grade will enjoy a slideshow of various’ artists watercolor paintings. They will practice watercolor skills by drawing and painting a Spring Watercolor picture. Second Graders will finish up their “If I were a Photographer” pictures.
Third Grade will complete their Surreal Magazine Collages and Fourth Graders will put their final touches on their “Infinity of Dots” marker drawings. Fifth Grade will learn about the artwork of Romero Britto and apply his style to their own artwork.
Sixth Graders will start a unit on Portraiture and will partner up with a fellow student to draw each other’s portraits. Seventh Grade will spend a few more classes on weaving their mug rugs. The Eighth Grade will learn about the American artist Georgia O’Keefe and start a chalk pastel drawing of a large flower. Finally, the Art Elective class will end the 2nd Trimester by painting their wood sculptures to take home.
