This Week in Art
PreK ~ Seurat’s Dots !! The children will use watercolors and Qtips to replicate Seurat’s pointillism paint technique. They will be painting a bouquet of heart-shaped flowers.
Kindergarten ~ The class will be learning about the history behind African jewelry, specifically some of the beautiful tribal necklaces. They will use oil pastels, beads and gems to decorate their paper plate necklaces.
First Gr. ~ The students will be decorating their hot air balloons with a patterns of lines and shapes. TBC….
Second Gr. ~ The class will finish using metallic markers to give their evergreen trees a more abstract look. Finally, they will use the element of space by overlapping some of their trees when gluing them to their papers.
Third Gr. ~ The class will be completing their Book Character Masks this week. They are adding so many details and I couldn’t be more proud
Fourth Gr. ~ The children are working on their Food Paintings.
Fifth Gr. ~ The students are working on their Optical Illusion Drawings.
Sixth Gr. ~ The class will learn about the Graffiti Art Movement and will create a graffiti tag.
Seventh Gr. ~ Our Seventh graders will learn about the history of Weaving and will learn how to weave on a cardboard loom.
Eighth Gr. ~ The class will finish up their Protractor Drawings.
Art Elective ~ The group will finish up their Low Relief Paper Roll Sculptures. They all did an amazing job!
