This Week in Art ~
It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!
If you look around the halls of Trinity you will see the beautiful Christmas-themed artwork created by our students! I am so proud of each and every one of my students for their effort and creativity! It has been a personal joy to see my students “grow” not only in their artistic skills but in their growth of learning the real meaning behind Christmas for all Christians.
During this up-coming week our ECC classes and Kindergarteners will enjoy decorating Christmas stockings and finishing up the final details on their Baby Jesus Nativity scenes. The First Grade will be so excited to add shining embellishments to their Paper Plate angels…they can’t wait to bring them home! Our Third graders will be designing Christmas cards and the students in Fourth Grade will be completing the coloring of their Cubist-style Angel drawings. Fifth Grade will start a lesson on using the art elements of Value and Space as they use gray pastels in their drawings. The Sixth Grade will continue to work on their chalk pastel calendars of the Northern Lights…just stunning!!! Seventh graders will utilize the facial proportion and drawing skills they learned last week as they progress with the “reality” side of their Split-face Self Portraits.
- Grades Two and Eight will NOT have Art class this week due to their show and concert program dress rehearsals.
- My new Trimester Art Elective students have started painting empty POM juice containers which they will transform into a Winter Snowman….so much fun!
Have a Blessed Week!
