This Week in Art:
PreK Classes will finish up decorating their Coffee Filter Turkeys
Kindergarten will continue drawing The Nativity using their shapes and lines.
Grade 1 ~ will start preparing their Christmas Tissue Paper Plate Wreaths.
Grade 2 ~ will finish up Poinsettia Sponge Paint Printing.
Grade 3 ~ will view slides of famous artists’ versions of The Annunciation and The Nativity. The class will create their own drawings of one of these events. After coloring and painting, the project will end up as a crayon resist.
Grade 4 ~ this class will learn about the Cubist Movement/Style of art. They will take a sketch of an angel figure and transform it into a “cubist style” of art using a combination of warm and cool colors.
Grade 5 ~ will learn about the folk art of tin metal punching. They will create an angel candle holder out of a recycled pie tin.
Grade 6 ~ will continue their Poinsettia drawings this week.
Grade 7 ~ this class has been working very carefully on their Christmas Card drawings.
Grade 8 ~ started work on their Value drawings. They will choose to highlight and illuminate a Christmas-related word by drawing two strands of retro Christmas lights behind their written word.
