This Week in Art:
Kindergarten will finish up their drawings of different types of weather. Our First graders will learn about different types of sculpture and then learn how to make their very own coil pots out of clay. The Second Grade will learn about artist Vincent van Gogh and his special style called Impressionism. Third Grade will finish up their Winter Birch Tree watercolor pictures. They all did a wonderful job on these! The Fourth Grade class will start coloring in their delicious food drawings using oil pastels. Our Fifth graders will continue their Snowman at Night chalk pastel drawings. The Sixth graders will start a unit on Portraiture which will give them all the information they will need to know about correct facial proportions. The Seventh grade class will start painting their Winter scenes while learning how to create tints for shadows in the snow. Finally, our Eighth graders will finish up their Notan Designs made out of colored construction paper.
In Art Elective class we continue to paint our Winter Scene of Snoopy taking a Snooze on his dog house. For many students this is their first time painting with acrylics on canvas using a table top easel. We are having fun in this intimate class of nine Sixth through Eighth grade girls.
Keep Creating and Enjoy your Week!
