Happy New Year and Welcome Back!
ECC Classes will be starting their Winter Unit. After listening to J. Brett’s book The Mitten the classes will create beautiful window sun catcher mittens.
Kindergarten will be sharpening their fine motor skills as they trace, cut and glue various textured papers onto their Snowman Collage.
First Grade will create a drawing based on C. Buchner’s book Snowmen at Night while Second Grade learns how to create a 3D version of an Aerial View Snowman.
Our Fourth graders will learn how to create flat and peaked roof structures out of construction paper for our unit on architecture and design.
Fifth Grade will continue to work on their Shades of Gray chalk pastel drawings from before Christmas.
The Sixth Grade class will enjoy a lesson on Graffiti Art and how to create different styles of “Tags.”
Seventh Grade will continue working on their Split Face Self Portraits this week as they finish coloring the mirror image side and start sketching the abstract “inner self” side of their portraits.
Our Eighth graders will continue using different color patterns and textures to color their Radial Symmetry designs.
Art Elective students will add assorted materials to “dress up” their snowmen they created from Pom Wonderful juice bottles.
***I can’t wait to post pictures of all of our students’ creative artwork in the New Year!
Keep Creating and Enjoy your Week!
