This Week in Art

PreK (Ms. T’s class) learned about French artist Claude Monet and will be painting Monet’s lily pond this week.  Kindergarten will finish coloring their Fall drawings and will be adding tissue paper leaves to their trees.  First Grade will be learning about “Line Families” and reviewing how to draw different shapes.  This will culminate in the making of a Kandinsky-inspired Line and Shape Collage project.  Second Graders will finish up sponge painting leaves onto their Autumn Activity Drawings.

Our Third Graders will be drawing and coloring a Favorite Family Memory.  Fourth Grade is working on their Construction Paper Landscape Collages.  Fifth Grade will finish adding the details to their Candy Corn Characters.

Sixth Grade is learning about the technique called foreshortening in perspective drawing. The class will apply the drawing technique by drawing a figure of a person falling from something.  Seventh Grade will be making an abstract Leaf Drawing using organic shapes and warm tone oil pastels.  Eighth Grade will learn about the Norwegian artist E. Munch and Expressionism in art.  They will make a drawing of a person’s phobia.  Art Elective continues to work on their Sunflower painting.

Keep Creating and Happy Fall to All!
