I hope everyone had a restful and safe Winter break!

  • *REMINDER*  The deadline for electronic submissions to this year’s Doodle4Google Art Contest is March 7, 2023 at 11:59 pm.  Good Luck to All!
  • Our ECC classes will be finishing up their Winter curriculum with the creation of a Polar Bear Mask made out of empty fruit cup containers, cut out paper plates and glued white tissue paper “crumbles.”  The Kindergarten class will finish up their self portrait unit and create little pinch pots made out of clay.  First Grade will celebrate literature and art in the month of March by creating a drawing response to the read aloud video books Hooray For Fish and Silly Monsters Love School. After finishing up their Wild Thing construction paper collage the Second graders will enjoy learning about the art of Photography and all the different types of careers you can have with this skill.
  • Third Grade will start a unit on Sculpture.  First they will learn about glass sculpture and the work of famous master artist D. Chihuly.  Then they will create an animal sculpture using clay.  Our Fourth Graders will study the work of American artist Norman Rockwell and will take a virtual visit of his museum in Massachusetts.  Fifth Grade will be finishing up their Creative Creature drawings in the next week — I can tell already these creatures are looking kind of crazy!
  • Sixth Grade will be designing their very own Sports Jerseys using an original team name, logo and eye-catching color scheme.  I can’t wait to see what their minds come up with.  Our Seventh graders will be creating a drawing using an animal and all kinds of textured patterns.  The Eighth Grade class will be using textured patterns and creating a design with their first initial.  Last but not least, our Art Elective class added the final touches to their canvas paintings of Snoopy.  Take a peek below.  Their next next creative endeavor is to design a room of their choice using one point perspective.

Keep Creating and enjoy your week!
