This week in the nursery classes we are preparing for Holy Week and Easter. We are busy doing:

Jesus Time: We had chapel this week with Pastor Henn.  We are hearing stories about Palm Sunday. In preparation for our very own  palm parade, we made palm branches and practiced our Hosanna songs to sing in praise of Jesus. We had a lot of fun parading around the Early Childhood Center!

Art Projects: Easter egg basket for our egg hunt, Easter card for our families and a lion and lamb project for the month of March,

Math: Continue and finish our number book. Please enjoy this book  while you reinforce number recognition and count with your child. Alligator counting song and ten little fingers.

Language Arts: It’s Spring! by Linda Glaser, Once upon a Springtime by Jean Marzollo, Too Many Bunnies by Tomie dePaola and The Wide-Mouthed Bullfrog by  Keith Faulkner. We worked with our alphabet center learning our letters of the alphabet, the sounds of the letters and improving our memory.

Gym Time: In our indoor gym we enjoyed using our new soft frisbees.

Science: New season – signs of spring and watching our amaryllis grow! We read a story called The Carrot Seed by Ruth Krauss.

Reminders: Egg hunt and egg relay are next week. Easter recess is from April 2 to April 10th. School resumes on Monday, April 13th.

Happy Easter!!
