REMINDERS:
- Our Easter Brunch will be taking place on Tuesday, 3/31 at 10:30am. A note was sent home with your child last week requesting a specific item and a fruit. The fruit should be brought to school on Monday.
- The Kindergarten, First, and Second grade classes will be taking a field trip to go see the Wizard of Oz this Wednesday at the Bellmore Theatre. A permission slip has already been sent home. The cost of the trip is $10.00 for the children and an additional $10 for any adult that wishes to attend. Adults need to provide their own transportation. A note with directions for the parents attending will be sent home before the trip.
- Encourage your child to READ every night to strengthen their skills. Don’t forget you can have them read all different things – the back of a cereal box, a favorite book, a magazine, a comic book, a card, posters. Everything counts as practice!
- Please be sure to check and sign all your child’s homework each night. This is to make sure that your child understands the concepts being taught in class. It is also important that your child’s work is neat and accurate. Encourage your child to do their best work!
TESTS THIS WEEK:
We are finished with our Monday tests after this week. We will resume Friday testing after Easter break.
3/30 – Reading Tests: Comprehension, Vocabulary, Phonics (compound words and short vowel ea), Spelling
3/31 – Chapter 11 Math Test
The Social Studies Test for Unit 4 will be the Wednesday after Easter break 4/15. The book will be sent home over the break to review.
CHAPTERS BEING COVERED THIS WEEK:
READING: We will not be starting a new story this week.
LANGUAGE ARTS: No Language Arts
PHONICS: No phonics
MATH: We will be finishing Chapter 11- 3 Dimensional Geometry
RELIGION: We will be working on Jesus’ Miracles
SCIENCE: We will be starting Chapter 6 – Land, Water, and Air
SOCIAL STUDIES: We will be finishing and reviewing Unit 4 – All About Work
SPELLING: No new spelling this week.
Your child should be writing the spelling words 3x each by Tuesday and 8 sentences using 8 words by Wednesday every week for homework.
