Welcome to Mrs. Flomer’s class notes!
Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week!
Spelling- The new words for this week are: bedtime, sunset, bathtub, sailboat, flagpole, backpack, playpen, raincoat, inside, himself. The children will write their 10 spelling words 3x each for homework by Tuesday. They should write 8 sentences by Wednesday. Use at least 5 words in each sentence. The children may also write a story using all ten words instead of ten sentences! The Spelling Test will be next Monday, 3/30.
Phonics- short e words; compound words
Language Arts- prepositions
Reading: We will read the story Little Rabbit’s Tale. The children will read it again at home. The Reading tests will be given next MONDAY. Please make sure your child reads the decodable readers that are sent home each night. They should be able to read the stories fluently. The “R” book words are: door, more, mother, old, try, use, want, wash. They will be on the vocabulary portion of the reading test.
Math- chapter 11- 3D shapes
There are only 5 lessons in this chapter, so we will finish it by Friday and have the test next Tuesday.
Science- Test Thursday- study sheets were sent home last week
Social Studies- book 4- wants and needs
Religion- Palm Sunday
Weekly Reader- Spring Weather
1AA News
Our Easter Brunch for the children will be next Tuesday, 3/31! Each child was given a specific item to bring in for our brunch. You can send in your item any time this week. Please send in fresh fruit for our fruit salad on Monday, 3/30.

Thursday 3/26- Science test on chapter 5 (food chains)
Monday 3/30- Reading and Spelling tests for lesson 20

Tuesday 3/31- Math test on chapter 11
Easter brunch in the classroom- please send in non-perishable items this week.
Wednesday 4/1- class trip to see The Wizard of Oz- Please return permission slips and $10 asap! We are all very excited about going to see this show!
