Hello, everyone! Welcome to a new week with temperatures that actually indicate that we are moving into Spring. Due to the weather disruptions last week, the topics of study are much the same as last week.
8th Social Studies
The students will continue to study the Spanish American War and U.S. involvement in world affairs, specifically Latin America. The students have also been working on a project examining and applying the techniques of yellow journalism. The final results of their work are fantastic- you have some very creative children!
8th Math: Pre-Algebra
This week the students will continue to work with equation that have a variable on both sides of the equal sign. They will focus in particular on working with decimals and fractions this week.
8th Religion
The students will take the Unit 3 quiz today (Monday) that had been initially scheduled for Friday. As we move on to Unit 4, the students will study life under the kings of Israel. Also, their career project is due next Monday, March 16th. The memory verse for this week is 1 Peter 2:5, which is found on page 75 in the student book.
