Second Grade Notes.
January 20th – 23rd

I am looking forward to seeing all of you Sunday morning as we are singing in church! The children are singing at the 9:00 service. You should arrive at 8:45. See you Sunday!
Here is what we are working on this week:
Math: We are having a test on Chapter 5 on Wednesday. We will begin Chapter 6 on Thursday.
Reading: Our story this week is Lesson 14 Helen Keller. We are talking about what a biography is and enjoying talking about the life of Helen Keller. We will focus on the author’s purpose for writing as well as summarizing. We will also focus on the target vocabulary words. The tests for Lesson 14 will be Tuesday, January 27th.
Phonics/Spelling: This week we will study the long o sound with o, oa, and ow. Our Spelling list will follow the same patterns.
Grammar: This week we will study Using Proper Nouns. We will focus on days of the week, months, and Book Titles.
Science: We will discuss animals without backbones. There will be a Chapter 2 Test next Wednesday.
Social Studies: We will continue to talk about the Life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and will complete a Time line activity.
