READING- Lesson 10 is a review chapter for Unit 2. We will have a test next week, on Wednesday, January 21. Please help your child review the following: high frequency words, see, we, a, to, the, short “a,” hard “c,” “t,” and “p” sounds at the beginning of a word, recognizing a word by blending the given sounds, for example, “s”-“u”- “n” the response is “sun,” and be able to answer questions about a story that will be read to them.
MATH- Learning addition facts and sentences are our main focus.
RELIGION- We will begin the story of Jesus in the temple.
SCIENCE- Winter weather is still being discussed.
SOCIAL STUDIES- Who is Martin Luther King Jr. and learning about a globe is our focus this week.
HANDWRITING- This week we will review printing numbers on lines.
JOURNAL- We will create our own sentences.
REMINDERS
No school on Monday, 1/19.
Picture retakes on Wednesday 1/21.
Help your child memorize her/her full name, address, and phone number by Friday, 1/16.
