READING- Our theme is ways that animals move and how they use sounds to communicate. Lesson 8 in Unit 2 teaches us to use describing words,(adjectives), like color words, when writing sentences, to use a period at the end of the sentence and a capital letter at the beginning of the sentence. Our high frequency word is “a,” and we will review the words, “the”, “I”, “and”  “see”, “like”, and “we”. In phonics we will focus on the beginning “hard c” sound, and review “t” and “short a”.

MATH- We are completing Chapter 4 and will have a test on FRIDAY, 12/12. On Wednesday you will receive Math pages and information to help you review concepts for our test.

RELIGION- We are preparing our hearts and our classroom for the birth of Jesus. Our Bible stories for the next few weeks will begin with the birth of John the baptist and culminate with the birth of our Lord.

SCIENCE- Science is intertwined with our Reading as we explore the movements of animals.

SOCIAL STUDIES- We will discuss birthdays.

HANDWRITING- We will write capital and lower case “C-c.”

JOURNAL- We will write the sentence “We trim the tree,” and draw a picture reflecting the same.
