Happy Monday, everyone! As usual, in addition to the regular class schedule, there are a number of different things going on this week. Tuesday is the Christmas Concert, which will be at 7:00 p.m. Students should arrive early. On Thursday, the Middle School will be going to see the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City. The students may be out of uniform, but they need to be dressed nicely, as we are going to a theater. The students will need to bring a bag lunch- please, no glass bottles.

8th Social Studies

This week the students will be studying the organized labor movement of the 19th century and how life in the United States changed as people began moving to cities. There will be a test on Chapter 18 late next week. This will be finalized as the week progresses. I will post a link to the review sheet when the test date is set.

8th Math (Pre-Algebra)

First of all, I gave the students a pop quiz this past Friday, and they did a wonderful job! I was so happy to write so many grades in the 90s, and even several 100s! This week the students will continue with their study of the linear equation. They will be determining the slope of these lines, and identifying the y-intercept. Essentially, they are taking the skills from the last few lessons and putting them all together.

Last week I handed out an extra credit assignment, which will count as a quiz. This is due on Wednesday of this week. The students may color their graph if they choose.

8th Religion

This week in Religion, we will begin wrapping up Unit 2. By Christmas break, the Israelites will have entered the Promised Land! There will be a test on Unit 2 next Thursday, December 18th. I will post the study guide in my notes next week. The memory verse this week is 1 Peter 5:6-7, which is on page 51.
