Here’s what is going on in 5A…
Spelling: Words with final Schwa plus /r/ sounds. Test Friday
S.S.: Chapter 7: Life in the Colonies. Foldable will be graded as a classwork grade. Test 12:12
Bible: We are writing letters to Santa telling him that Jesus is the true meaning of Christmas. These letters will get mailed at Macys. They are donating one dollar to The Make A Wish Foundation for every stamped letter mailed before Christmas. Please send in a large white, stamped envelop by next Monday. We will start discussing the character education word of the month: Patience.
ELA: Reading: Passage: Cougars. Vocabulary and comprehension test Friday.
Grammar: Quotations and interjections. Test Friday.
Writing: We are discussing writing a research paper. We will be looking at examples.
Christmas concert: 12/9. Students who are involved in the concert and are missing classes for music lessons or other rehearsals are responsible to make up the content they miss. Please remind your child to see Mrs. Gallo or myself for assistance, depending on what class was missed.
Next week we will be making ornaments that will be sold during various lunchtimes. The money raised will be used to buy food for the Hicksville United Methodist Food Pantry.
We are participating in a school wide Christmas door decorating contest. Our theme is ‘Jesus is the best gift of all!’ Feel free to check out our classroom door the evening of the concert.
The Cereal box book reports came out great!! We will be sharing our commercials throughout the next few weeks.
