POP! POP! POP! We used our 5 senses last week to make popcorn. We got to feel the hard kernels before they were popped and then we got to hear, smell and see them popping. Then we got to taste the delicious popcorn when we enjoyed it for snack.
This week we are continuing to learn all about Thanksgiving. Some of the stories we will read include The Littlest Pilgrim by Brandi Dougherty and T is for Turkey by Tanya Lee Stone. Our Language Arts story is “Clook Clook Clook”, about a mother hen and her 10 chicks.
On Wednesday we visited chapel and Mrs. Evers reminded us of some of the things we can be thankful for this Thanksgiving… food, families, clothes to wear, books to read, and most of all Jesus. During Jesus time we also learned about Miriam and the miracle of God parting the water to save the Israelites. Miriam and her family were so thankful, they wanted to sing and dance!
For math, we are counting in Anno’s Counting Book by Mitsumaso Anno. We are also practicing writing #9 and counting turkeys on a Thanksgiving worksheet.
We will have a special baking project this week when we make pumpkin pie! Yum!!
Christmas is just around the corner and we are getting a head start on some Christmas projects… A Christmas shape counting book and a salt dough Advent wreath.
Have a blessed week!
