READING- We are beginning Unit 2, and our first lesson will focus on using our five senses. We will read the following stories, ” Listen, Listen,” ” My Five Senses,”  and “Picnic Day.” To help the students with reading fluency they will read the stories “Aa” and “I See.” Our high frequency word is “see,” and we will review consonant sounds for “s” and “m” and introduce the short “a” vowel sound. The students will learn how to use sensory words, (adjectives), when they speak and write, and continue to learn to use context clues to help them understand the text.

MATH- We have a test on Chapter 3 on Tuesday, 11/18. Then we will begin Chapter 4, “Represent and compare numbers to 10.”

RELIGION- The story of Abraham and his descendants is lengthy, as it includes Isaac, and Joseph and his brothers, so we are still discussing these stories.

SCIENCE- Our topic is what our five senses tell us about Fall.

SOCIAL STUDIES/SCHOLASTIC MAGAZINE-  The First Thanksgiving Story is our focus.

HANDWRITING- We will write capital and lower case Aa.

JOURNAL- After we have our school wide Thanksgiving Feast we will write and draw a picture in our Journal.
