The nursery students are having so much fun at school ! Friendships are forming as they learn the rules for school, which includes taking turns and sharing.

This week in class we are completing the I Am Special Book. The children are learning that God created the world and  they are a very special gift from God. Each and every student is  a precious miracle!

We begin our color unit this week . We will start with the color RED. Please ask your child’s teacher if you need an additional copy of the color day  schedule. On red day, the children are asked to wear red. We will eat a snack of red apples and paint red at the easel. We will create a red happy face from our red painting. We will also make red Clifford ears and read a special Clifford story.

We are starting to discuss the four seasons and the signs of the seasons. We have a wonderful movement to music song called The Four Seasons. This song helps children learn to keep a beat while also learning about the signs of the seasons.

Art: Clifford ears and paint red at the easel.

Stories: Clifford the Big Red Dog by  Norman Bridwell, Big Red Barn by   Margaret Wise Brown   and Big Red Apple by Tony Johnston.

Songs: Red, Red Rose, The Turning Song and The Bean Bag song.

Math: Counting our friends and apples.

Science: The four seasons, signs of fall.

Snack: We ate tasty red apples.

Reminders:   Next week is BLUE week. Wear blue on Monday and/or Tuesday.

We will  visit White Post Farm on Wednesday /Thursday. Five day students may pick which day they would like to attend. Full day students are welcome back to school after the farm visit. Please meet at the farm at 9:15 am.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with us and have a blessed week!
