Second Grade Notes
Week of September 22nd
I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend. It was so nice to meet so many of you at Back to School Night last week. I hope you all learned important information about second grade. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Curriculum
Math: We will be finishing up Chapter one and have a test on Wednesday, September 24th. The Chapter One Math test will be Wednesday, September 24th. We will then begin Chapter 2 on Thursday and Friday.
Reading: Our story this week is Dogs. We will as always focus on vocabulary and the skill of Comparing and Contrasting.
Phonics/Spelling: We will focus on the long vowel sounds of a and i this week.
Grammar: This week we will talk about the different kinds of sentences. We will also continue to review Subject and Predicate.
Writing: We will finish our Friendly Letters and also learn how to write Descriptive paragraphs.
Science: We will begin Chapter 1 and our study of plants.
Social Studies: We will talk about being a good citizen and our responsibilities as a citizen.
Reminders
Please remember to send all pizza envelopes in by Thursday.
