Learning is in full swing down in the ECC, and this year we have a special new addition to our classrooms… A Smart Table! A Smart table is like a giant ipad the the teachers use as a teaching resource to enhance our lessons. All of the learning activities and games are set up to accommodate 4 students at a time. The students work together to sort, match, trace, etc… We had so much fun using the Smart Table for the first time this week!
Last week we started our Apple Unit by learning all about red apples. We painted 3 shades of red and made a red apple collage. This week we are continuing with our unit by learning about yellow apples. We are painting 3 shades of yellow and we will be making an apple out of paper plates. On Friday we will be cooking crunchy apple toast! Yum!!!
For Jesus time we are learning about Creation and we have started work on a Creation book. Some of the songs we will be singing are “God is so Great” and “God is so Good”. We will also be talking with Jelly and reading the big book The World that God Made.
Stories we will be reading this week include An Apple a Day, Apple Pie Tree, and Arnolds’s Apple Tree.
We are reviewing #2, squares and the color yellow.
