“On May 22 fifth grade took its annual trip to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The first part of the day was spent exploring the Franklin Institute of Science. There, students walked through the human heart, found out how many miles per hour they could throw a baseball, and rode a bicycle suspended on a tightrope. Lunch was eaten at the Bourse Building, which houses a variety of food and shops. For the remainder of our day we took a walking trip through the historical streets of beautiful Philadelphia. Guided by a local historian, we visited Ben Franklin’s printing press, an original Quaker Meeting House, Christ Church, The Liberty Bell, and Ben Franklin’s grave. Everyone had a great day. Thank you to all of the chaperones that gave their entire day to us and to the fifth grade students who were so well behaved.” – Mrs. Karen Lively
