Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week!

 

Spelling– The new words for this week are: boys, mouse, noise, sound, town, toy, father, horse, people, should. The children will write their 10 spelling words 3x each for homework Monday night. They should write 10 sentences due by Wednesday.   Encourage your child to be creative!   Spelling Test will be Friday.

 

Phonics– consonant digraphs

 

Language Arts– comparative writing

 

Reading: We will read the story, Young Amelia Earhart on Tuesday. The children will read the story again at home on Tuesday night. The take home story this week is “The Old Horse”. There will be a Reading test Friday.

 

Math– tens/ones; 100 chart; number bonds

 

Social Studies– Leaders

 

Science- Test Wednesday- study sheets were sent home last week

 

Weekly Reader– Helping the Earth

Reminders:

Science test this Wednesday on Chapter 11- Day and Night Sky

 

May 17^th– Trinity Lutheran School yard sale 9-2

 

May 20^th– K-3 Spring Musical at 7pm- Children should arrive to the classroom by 6:45.

 

May 23^rd-May 26^th– Memorial Day Weekend- no school

 

June 3^rd– Class trip to the Vanderbilt Planetarium- Children should bring lunch (including snacks and drinks) as we will be picnicking there after the show!
