Hello, everyone! We have a routine, but busy, week ahead of us, and here’s the latest news:

8th Social Studies

On Monday, the eighth grade classes visited the Nassau County Holocaust Museum and Memorial. We had the privilege of hearing a first-hand account of surviving the Holocaust from Mr. Alex Konstantyn. He delivered a moving and enthralling talk that kept all of us captivated.

The rest of this week we will continue to study the cultural and social changes that took place during the 1920s. We will specifically focus on the Jazz Age and the Harlem Renaissance before looking at the eventual economic decline of 1929.

7th Social Studies

This week we are looking at the very first presidential administrations under the U.S. Constitution. We will be examining how the U.S. dealt with the massive debts they owed following the Revolution and just how our modern system of political parties emerged.

Also, did you know that George Washington was technically not the first President of the United States? This will explain everything. 😉

8AA Religion

This week in Religion we will be studying one of the Old Testament’s most well known figures, King David. We will be looking at how he was chosen as king and what happened during his reign. The memory verse for this week, 1 Samuel 16:7, is one of the passages we will look at frequently. This can be found on page 67 in the student book.
