READING- We will study the initial “k” and ending “ck” sounds, learn that a noun is a person, place or thing, continue to blend using “a,” “i,” “o,” and “u,” identify the beginning, middle and ending of a story or group of given pictures, read the high frequency word “for,” and read the mini book, “Tom is Sick.”

MATH- Our focus is continuing to identify one less than a given set of objects or number.

RELIGION- We will read and discuss the stories, “Jesus Blesses the Children” and “Jesus Heals Ten Men.”

SCIENCE- We will discuss the signs of Spring.

SOCIAL STUDIES/SCHOLASTIC MAGAZINE- We’ll review fire safety rules, and discuss the job of a firefighter.

HANDWRITING- Writing “K-k” is our letter this week.

JOURNAL- We will write, Spring is here! and then draw a picture about Spring.

 REMINDERS

We have a Unit 4 Reading test on Wednesday, 3/19.

Our turn for the Book Fair is Wednesday, 3/19.

Once the weather begins to warm up we will be going outside. Dress your child appropriately.
