Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone! To get the full scoop on just who Patrick was, I encourage you to visit this site.

On to school news. The Eighth grade students had a wonderful class trip to Washington, D.C., last week. Each of them had personal favorites when I asked about their favorite site we visited. Each one also said that they learned something new about our nation’s history. Mission accomplished! More details will follow in next week’s Trinity Times.

Now that we are back in the swing of things, here are the updates for this week:

8th Social Studies

This week the students will begin studying the Roaring Twenties. We will be exploring how the aftermath of World War I changed the cultural landscape of our country, especially the growth of an American pop culture.

7th Social Studies

This week the seventh grade classes will be doing a civics study. Toward the beginning of the week, the students will take part in a mock Constitutional Convention. Each group of students will brainstorm, write, and present a Constitutional Amendment. The class will then vote on its ratification. We will also explore the process of naturalization and why a person would choose to give up their home country and become a U.S. citizen.

8AA Religion

This week, 8AA will be learning about Samuel and how to follow God’s calling. The memory verse for this week is 1 Peter 2:9, which can be found on page 63 in the student book. Also, select students in the class will help with readings in chapel this week. If you are available, feel free to join us Wednesday morning!

Have a wonderful week!
