Hello all! I hope everyone had a restful and blessed Winter Break and that everyone enjoyed our brief taste of Spring this past weekend. Here’s what’s going on this week:

8th Social Studies

This week the students will begin learning about the causes and lasting effects of the Great War, more commonly known as World War I. The first World War is thought to be the first time that the United States showed itself to be a major “superpower”, and also directly contributed to the start of World War II.

7th Social Studies

Now that we have finished studying the American Revolution (we won!), the students will be exploring how our Founding Fathers took the 13 colonies and formed them into one cohesive nation. We will be exploring the trials and errors of forming a new government, and how our current government was developed.

8AA Religion

First of all, the career projects are due this Wednesday, February 26th. The students may create a poster, or submit a PowerPoint presentation via email or USB drive. Also, since we had a snow day on February 13th, the memory verse is once again Isaiah 6:8, which may be found on page 57 of the student workbook. This week we will continue to study the book of Judges, beginning with Gideon, and continuing on with Samson.
