READING- We are learning the initial “r” and “p” and final “p” sounds, to identify the main idea of a picture or story, to compare and contrast information in, or to understand a story, blending to read words, to identify and read the high frequency words “to” and “me”. We will also read the mini books, “You Are It!” and “Is It You?”

MATH – Our concept for this week is to determine 1 more in numbers up to 10.

RELIGION- Our focus is the stories , The Boy Jesus in the Temple, and Jesus Chooses His Disciples.

SCIENCE- We’ll discuss animal homes.

SOCIAL STUDIES/SCHOLASTIC MAGAZINE- Our discussion will focus on Abraham Lincoln.

HANDWRITING- We will practice writing “R-r” and “P-p.”

JOURNAL- We will write and draw a picture about our favorite part of Polar Express Day!

FINAL THOUGHTS-

Don’t forget Valentine cards for your child’s classmates and a treat for his/her 5th Grade buddy.
