As often happens before a vacation ,we will take a few unit exams this week to wrap up our current chapters.  The students are reviewing in class and should continue to review at home if the weather causes another snow day for us this week.  I’m sure you are all looking forward to March as I am!

We will be celebrating Valentine’s Day on Friday in class.  We are also talking about the Olympics and watching video clips of some of the events.

The kids did a great job with last week’s introduction to the Creative Spelling packet.  This will continue to be their Spelling homework each week.

Week of: February 10-14

Spelling: gather, winter, master, tractor, shower, major, danger, enter, whether, water, thunder, eager, bitter, silver, minor, neither, wonder, either, rather, together

Vocabulary: adorn, dwell, register, smolder

Writing Journal Assignment:  This week will be doing an IN CLASS writing assignment about the Olympics.  Students are only required to pick and event and find out three facts about it for Monday night’s homework so that they can use that information in class.

Math: Multi dividend division

Science: Review and test on Chapter 9

Social Studies: Review and test on Chapter 5

Reading: Ongoing free reading in class, reading notebook, conferencing

Language Arts: 

Religion: daily devotions, Ten Commandment posters

Tests:

  • Tuesday – Social Studies Chapter 5
  • Thursday – Memory Quiz
  • Friday – Spelling; Science, Chapter 9

Important News:

  • Math Extra Help will be given on Wednesday at 7:45 am
  • Friday is a dress down day in celebration of Valentine’s Day.  Students are to follow the school dress down policy and must wear red or pink.
