Mrs. Flomer’s Notes for the week of January 20th.
Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week!
Spelling– The new words for this week are: smile, white, wide, while, bite, hide, were, who, after, blue. The children will write their 10 spelling words 3x each for homework by Wednesday. They should write 6 sentences by Thursday. Spelling Test will be on Friday.
Phonics– long vowels
Language Arts– We will review unit 2 on nouns. Practice sheets will be sent home this week. Test is next Tuesday (2/28).
Reading: We will read the story The Shopping List on Tuesday. The children will read it again at home on Tuesday night. The take home story this week is “The Wish Fish”. There will be a Reading test on Friday.
Math– place value
Science- Life cycle of plants and trees
Social Studies– test this Tuesday on book 3 (which was sent home last Tuesday)
Religion- Stories about Jesus healing others

Jayden T. is our Star of the Week!
We are at the end of the second quarter. The 3rd quarter begins next Monday. The first half of the year just flew by. We have so much more learning to do! Please make sure that your child is completing his/her homework neatly each night. The homework should be checked and signed by a parent each night. Some of the children have been handing in messy or incomplete homework. Encourage your child to always complete their work neatly.
Pizza envelopes should be handed in by Thursday!
