Last week our second graders became actors and actresses as we reenacted our story Thanksgiving on Thursday. The children had a blast acting out their vocabulary words and pretending they were characters from the book. This week we will be rehearsing for our Christmas Show and participating in a school-wide Thanksgiving Feast.

Here’s a look at what we will be learning this week!

Math– This week we will be exploring the number 1,000 and we will continue relating what we have learned about place value to money. On Wednesday the students will have a Mid-Module Assessment to review what they have learned in the first 10 lessons.

Reading- Through the use of our Scholastic Readers we will practice the skill of finding evidence in the text. The students will read “Country Turkey, City Turkey,” from their reader to learn about wild turkeys.

Writing- We are continuing to work on our descriptive writing and sharing our Dream Thanksgiving stories with the class.

Religion- The story of “God Calls Samuel” will teach us how to listen to God’s holy word.
